Healthcare reform is a hot topic and needs to be addressed but, are the right people talking to each other? The cost of healthcare affects everyone’s ability to save, invest and impacts a businesses bottom line. How’s your bottom line going to grow if it’s constantly being drained by rising costs of healthcare? Either you’re an individual or self-employed person buying health insurance for you and your family, or a business paying for employees’ insurance. If you’re one of the growing population who do not have coverage, you live in fear of going to the hospital. This problem affects your ability to create wealth.

In Creating Wealth you need to remember to stay focused and follow the basic rules. Equity & Appreciation; meaning you always want to build equity (ownership) and have the asset appreciate (grow over time) in value. Many of us loose site of this principle and spend our money on things that give us immediate gratification but go nowhere. We see in America today most people carrying a lot of consumer (non-residential mortgage) debt. They are simply spending more money than they bring home and this action destroys any chance of creating wealth.

The White House announced today that the unemployment rate climbed to 10%. Hey, Washington, I got news for you it’s more like 20%. If you count all the people who no longer qualify for unemployment benefits and the under-employed you’re double the 10%.

There is a plague that runs through the streets of Wall Street, and that is greed. If you have a stock broker, financial advisor, or financial planner, that is commission base, fire him or her now. I don’t care if he has five, ten, or fifty years of experience. It is not in your best interest to have an advisor that is compensated on a commission bases.
