Mind Over Money – Having a Wealth Attitude
March 2nd, 2010 by thewealthrebelWhen you hear the word "poor" what do you think of? Not having any money? Broke? We need to understand being broke (no money in the bank), and being poor are two different things.
Being broke is a temporary situation. We have all been there at one time or another in our lives. Being poor is a state of mind; it’s not about having or not having money.
A great example of this difference is past lottery winners. There is a shocking statistic that shows most million-dollar lottery winners are back to their former financial status (living pay check to pay check or worse) within 3 years of winning. Many even file bankruptcy! Isn’t that unbelievable???
Poverty is an attitude. Attitudes can change. A key element in the creation of wealth is getting and keeping the proper attitude. No road is straight, level, and without pot holes and neither is the path to riches. Those bumps in the road give us experiences, and drawing from those experiences give us confidence to press on.
Wealthy people in this country got there by one of three ways:
inheritance, marrying in to money, or professional/business ownership.
Being a professional athlete, musician or actor takes years and years of hard work and training. Most people can’t build a business over night. So having the right attitude is incredibly important to getting you through those tough times when you just want to give up and quit.
Having the "right stuff" between the ears comes from both internal and external forces. Externally we must search out websites, books, and audio downloads that support our goals and expand our knowledge of our line of business. Seek out a personal coach or mentor who will have a vested interest in your success. Internally you must come to grips with who you are and your eternal soul. God created each one of us for a purpose and part of our journey in life is to discover what that is. Seek a relationship with God for that inner peace needed to live life to the fullest.
Being wealthy, miserable and lost can only end in disaster. Don’t be like those other people waiting at home for the government stimulus money to show up at the door. They are as "high" as our elected officials in Washington. Figure out what business you want to be in and go out there and start something.
